Steve has carpentry in his DNA. His father, Rudolph Elmer, and Rudolph’s father, Paul Terjek (of Hungarian descent – that’s the Hungarian spelling), were both life-long carpenters. Steve has been a professional carpenter since 1993. To start his carpentry career Steve apprenticed under master carpenter, Daniel Wentworth, supporting multiple general contractors.<\/p>\n
Once contacted by a potential customer, Steve communicates clearly to ensure that he fully understands his customer’s project desire each and every step of the way. If there is a ‘meshing’ among customer and carpenter on the phone, then a site visit and written estimate is produced. Once contracted to carpenter, he works concertedly to exceed his customer’s expectations in the finished product.<\/p>\n
Steve has created numerous carpentry projects from fences to custom stairs over the more than 21 years he has been a full-time carpenter. (Constructing fences that are effective and actually last for many years, believe it or not, is a very detailed process considering the soils, concrete, posts, planks and hardware, and requires relatively advanced carpentry skills and abilities.) Of course, he owns and operates a full set of current wood working tools that he ensures are sharp and well maintained.<\/p>\n
Some of his satisfied, and repeat customers include the Boulder Montessori School, Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, Catalyst Communications and Rodwin Architecture. He was a full carpenter constructing the Arroyo Grande Bandstand in Arroyo Grande, CA in 2005.<\/p>\n
Most importantly, Steve has completed multiple projects for numerous home owners primarily in the Denver and Boulder areas, and considers this homeowner work his most challenging and satisfying.<\/p>\n

As legally required, Steve has full liability and Worker’s Comp insurance coverages. Please ask Steve for proof of insurance as all reputable carpenters carry it.<\/p>\n
Health, achievement and adventure are his most treasured values. He ensures his overall health via regular cardiovascular exercise, a daily written gratitude practice, and recreational time in nature.<\/p>\n
In his free time he still enjoys creating ‘art’ projects like benches and brilliant cedar slabs, and select restoration projects like a butchers block and harvest table. All with the intent of enjoying mother nature’s tree wood products.<\/p>\n
